I was today years old when I learned that I’m about 1 year younger than Neal Patrick Harris (the guy who played “Doogie Howser” on the TV show named after the character).

A Sucker for Sorkin
Sometimes I have ideas which I’m not sure whether or not to post here. It’s true that this space is really mostly for me, but I like for the things I post to at least be interesting to other people (other people being the small circle of friends who I know read the site). I had one of those moments tonight.
My relationship with TV is kind of an odd thing. On the one hand, I have this oddly personal and emotional connection to the TV shows I like. I get the feeling it’s a bit atypical (and probably a bit comical at times *grin*). On the other hand, I get a weird feeling occasionally and decide that I need to make a new post that’s very similar to a post on my old web log. 🙂
He wasn’t quite 7 years older than me. He was born on Halloween 1967 and died from a complication of COVID-19 in April 2020. His name is Adam Schlesinger.
Ada Lovelace
Take a little while and watch this YouTube video about Ada Lovelace. I had no idea she was the daughter of Lord Byron, and I didn’t know about her deep friendship with Charles Babbage. All I knew was that a computer language inherited her name.
Random Orville Funny
I’m watching an episode of The Orville (title “Primal Urges”), and the writers threw in one of those random funnies just now, and I had to share.
What a dick!
Kelly Grayson
Eh. He’s a walking Speak & Spell. Screw him.

Denotation and Connotation
A thought that I just shared with a friend:
There’s a distinct difference between denotation and connotation, and I hate the “sledgehammer-like language” that I have to use when I’m forced to pretend that connotation doesn’t exist.

Work On Not Wasting My “Up Moods”
At any particular moment, I could say I’m in either an “Up Mood” or a “Down Mood”. I need to stop wasting my “Up Moods”. It’s not useful (in this case) for me to try to figure out “the why”. I should, instead, be having fun during my “Up Moods”.
You know, it’s pretty obvious to me that for the 1986 model year, both the Chevrolet Monte Carlo and the Buick Regal (and, thus, the Buick Grand National) were built on the same GM platform.
The car I learned how to drive in was a 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Luxury Sport. 😉
They Couldn’t Resist
Free Guy
Have you ever been so “taken” with a movie that you just had to write about it? On one hand, I realize that it’s pretty much so good of a story… so transparent, that plenty of folks are going to roll their eyes and dismiss it. Honestly, though, it just hit me really “hard in the feels”.
