The Archipelago of Weird

A post on one of my web logs seems like where I would have stashed this link, but apparently not.

I picked this up from Joyce originally. I believe she shared it on LiveJournal. Turns out the page is still up on the web after all these years! I found it after feeding various pieces of the text into Google.

It’s on LJ, so it apparently doesn’t lead anywhere useful, but the text of the post itself is really worth a read!

Actually, when I wrote that it doesn’t go anywhere, I was apparently incorrect. Eventually, you get to this site.

I give you (edit by JHM on 21 October 2025: I decided to change the link to lead to the author’s page at Dreamwidth Studios. User “siderea” has copied the content from LJ over to Dreamwidth. People can still see the old LJ URL if they want it: https://siderea.livejournal.com/201206.html/):
Psychodrama, Surrealism, and the Archipelago of Weird, Or, “What Do You Mean ‘If’?”

Random Orville Funny

I’m watching an episode of The Orville (title “Primal Urges”), and the writers threw in one of those random funnies just now, and I had to share.

What a dick!

Eh. He’s a walking Speak & Spell. Screw him.

Eureka Déjà Vu

I just had a “déjà vu moment”. I’ve been catching up on the TV series “Eureka“, and I just finished watching the last episode. Trevor Grant (played by James Callis) asked Henry Deacon (played by Joe Morton) if he wants to “change the world”.

My mind instantly went back to the line that Steve Jobs used on John Sculley (“Do you want to sell sugar water for the rest of your life or do you want to come with me and change the world?”).
