{"id":102,"date":"2015-01-27T21:46:06","date_gmt":"2015-01-28T03:46:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oddlysincere.com\/?p=102"},"modified":"2025-02-14T21:59:02","modified_gmt":"2025-02-15T03:59:02","slug":"legacy-on-techops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oddlysincere.com\/?p=102","title":{"rendered":"Legacy on TechOps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>You know, it really shouldn&#8217;t be any surprise to me that <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/dragoncon.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">DragonCon<\/a> <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/techops.net\/#\/public\" target=\"_blank\">TechOps<\/a> appears to be about the best shot for me to get back somewhere close to where I was. As I sit here tonight, I\u00a0<em>once again<\/em> find myself thinking about how proud I am that I (and &#8220;my&#8221; room staff) were pretty early in the path for a\u00a0<em>number<\/em> of staffers who have gone on to have fairly important positions. What brought it to mind for me tonight was noticing that one of those people from my &#8220;legacy&#8221; is now listed as having the night-time equivalent of\u00a0<em>my<\/em> pre-wreck job: day-time lead for one of the <em>truly<\/em> large hotel ballrooms that we manage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<em>other<\/em> thing that this helps get through my thick skull is that one of the best ways to truly start feeling better about myself as a person is to be able to point to someone&nbsp;<em>else<\/em> who started out working for me (after the wreck) and be able to nod and say, &#8220;Look at what&nbsp;<em>I<\/em>&nbsp;helped do.&#8221; Building a legacy I can be proud of&#8230; I&nbsp;<em>really<\/em> think&nbsp;<em>that&#8217;s<\/em>&nbsp;how I&#8217;m <em>most<\/em> likely to &#8220;get my groove back.&#8221; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You know, it really shouldn&#8217;t be any surprise to me that DragonCon TechOps appears to be about the best shot for me to get back somewhere close to where I was.
